A poster for Tortoise, the amazing instrumental band that came to Richmond earlier this month.  This piece was inspired by film noir, with the genre's use of dramatic angles and lighting to build suspenseful tension, usually taking place in a city setting.  The band's Jazz inspired moody music would be perfectly set for one of these old black and white movies.

I painted this tonight after struggling with frustration all day in the studio. The subject matter and media came together to be very cathartic, and I now feel much better.
