I'm excited and honored to announce that my piece "Nick Cave & Warren Ellis" was awarded a Gold Medal by the Richmond Illustrator's Club Show. Thank you to the jurors Mark Summers, Bill Koeb, Amy Crehore, Phyllis Saroff and to Holly and Katie of the RIC.
The show opens this Friday and runs from June 2 - 25th at Ghostprint Gallery. There is a preview on Thursday night that I will be attending from 6-8pm - if you're in town come down and say hello!
Illustration for an article about the battle Shaolin Kung Fu masters are facing trying to attract students to the traditional styles due to the mindless violence in movies and the ego-driven movie stars who act in them.
This is an assignment for my Visual Narrative class with George Pratt and Marshall Vandruff. This has been the most fun assignment in all of TAD. The assignment was to use photo reference from a list of famous photojournalists and create an 8 page comic out of the photos with cropping the photos in your own way or combining photos together. The photojournalists include Dorothea Lange, Alfred Stieglitz, Frank Hurley, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Keith Carter, Euroda Welty, Manual Bravo Alvarez, and more. These images are 12 x 15, ink with a brush pen on bristol.
Thank you to everyone who came out to this past Saturday's demo at TAD RVA - we had a great time! We will be holding similar events in the future so keep an eye here and on our Facebook page.
